Job Summary:

St. Clement of Rome Catholic School, a thriving PK–8 parish school located in Des Peres, MO, is seeking a faith-filled, experienced, and compassionate 2nd Grade Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. Under the leadership of the Principal and Assistant Principal, the teacher is responsible for supporting the intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual development of students through engaging instruction rooted in Catholic values.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator who brings energy, creativity, and a strong commitment to nurturing the whole child in a Christ-centered learning environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Actively support and uphold the mission and Catholic identity of St. Clement of Rome Catholic School.

• Embrace and model the teachings of the Catholic Church in word and action in alignment with the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the Christian Witness Statement.

• Create a classroom environment that promotes faith formation, academic excellence, and a love of learning.

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with Archdiocesan curriculum standards and educational best practices.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and support academic growth for all students.

• Foster classroom management strategies that promote self-discipline, responsibility, and respect among students.

• Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.

• Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student development.

• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administrators to promote a positive and effective school culture.

• Participate in professional development, school events, and faith formation activities as required.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).

• Current and valid Missouri State Teacher Certification (required).

• Practicing Catholic preferred or willingness to support and uphold the Catholic mission of the school.

• Prior classroom teaching experience in an elementary setting strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to integrate faith, academics, and care for the whole child.

• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with students, parents, and colleagues.
