The Preschool Teacher in a Catholic school setting is a faith-filled educator responsible for nurturing the spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical development of young children. This role involves creating a Christ-centered, developmentally appropriate learning environment that reflects the values and teachings of the Catholic Church. The ideal candidate fosters curiosity, compassion, and foundational learning through play, structure, and faith formation.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate and rooted in Catholic values
Integrate prayer, Bible stories, and faith-based lessons into daily instruction
Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment
Promote positive behavior and model Christian virtues in word and action
Observe and assess student progress, documenting development across domains
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student growth and classroom activities
Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support school-wide initiatives
Prepare classroom materials and maintain a clean, organized space
Participate in school Masses, events, and professional development opportunities
Follow all licensing and diocesan policies and procedures
Qualifications:
State teaching certification (if applicable)
Completion of Protecting God’s Children / VIRTUS training
Practicing Catholic who models the faith and supports the mission of Catholic education
Experience teaching or working with preschool-aged children
Knowledge of child development, classroom management, and age-appropriate curriculum
Strong communication and collaboration skills
